A rustic metal reproduction of the great desert agave plant. Handcrafted in Mexico, this agave cactus features a hollow center and scalloped edges to mimick the thorns of the delightful southwestern agave.

These agaves are in the beginning stages of a rusty patina with dark welding dust, each will continue to naturally rust when exposed to the elements, to a deeper and darker all over brown patina similar to the agave in the last photo. Please note this is a very rustic agave and will have rough or uneven welds and cuts as well as bends and creases in the leaves and may have bent or curled tips and may not be perfectly circular in shape. MADE IN MEXICO is written in white on the side of the base and will rust over. The leaves may be slightly offset on the circular base.

This rustic agave is available in MINI, SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE and EXTRA LARGE, I recommend placing a yard stick in the area that you’d like to place the agave and tie a string or place tape at the measurement of the size you are interested in to give you an idea of how it will look in that area. Using a yard stick pushed into the soil and standing on its own instead of using a tape measure will allow you to step back away from the area to get a better idea of how it will look. Often times people find out they need a different size than what they originally thought they wanted.
MINI measures about 11 to 12 inches tall and is about 8 to 10 inches in diameter at the widest with a round metal base that is about 5.5 to 6 inches in diameter and may be slightly uneven or offset. Please note this is a small agave.
SMALL measures about 14 to 16 inches tall and is about 8 to 11 inches in diameter at the widest with a round metal base that is about 5.5 to 6 inches in diameter and may be slightly uneven or offset. Please note this is a small agave.
MEDIUM measures about 16 to 19
inches tall and about 9 to 11 inches in diameter with a round metal base that is about 5.5 to 6 inches in diameter.
LARGE measures about 20 to 23 inches tall and about 11 to 14 inches in diameter with a round metal base that is about 7.5 to 8 inches in diameter and may be slightly uneven or offset.
EXTRA LARGE measures about 25 to 27 inches tall and about 12 to 16 inches in diameter with a round metal base that is about 9 to 10 inches in diameter and may be slightly uneven or offset.

I recommend placing a yard stick in the area that you’d like to place the agave for an idea of the agave’s size in relation to the area or planter. A yard stick is easier to manage than a tape measure and you can push it into the soil or dirt and step back to get an idea of how tall the agave will be.

As each is made by hand, these dimensions will vary slightly as will the overall shape. Feel free to send a message if you’d like to see a photo of the exact agave that I will ship to you. The recent increase in shipping rates for larger items is the reason for the big price difference for the Large and Extra Large option.
