Great gift idea!
Bloom Again Metal Art flowers are created by embracing the practice of WabiSabi – the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection. Each metal flower is created by using salvaged and repurposed metal. This means that every flower is one-of-a-kind and individually handmade by the artist, Richard Arfsten … that’s me!
These metal flowers look great in any indoor or outdoor space. Use Outdoors displayed on a stake – mingle them in your landscape to add a touch of whimsy – add to a planter as the center of attraction – hang on a fence or deck rail. They never need watering, don’t require fertilizer and survive in just about any weather conditions. Use indoors as wall art or arrange in a flower vase for a charming floral accent.
The metal used is salvaged from steel barn siding, some has the original factory finish and some has a natural rust patina. The yellow petals are coated with industrial-grade paint. The galvanized hardware and glass center are newly purchased. Bear in mind that the metals used are salvaged and repurposed so they may be less than perfect – but that’s part of their charm!
Due to the nature of steel, eventually more rust will appear if the flower is left outside for an extended time. You can delay future rust by applying a clear spray sealer annually. But honestly, the rust really adds to the beauty of the piece because you never know what Mother Nature is going to create – maybe more WabiSabi!
Every flower comes with a pre-attached wall hanger. A 30-inch steel rod stem (stake) is available for a slight additional fee. If you would like a stem, be sure to select that option when placing your order.
The specially engineered two-part 30-inch stem is designed to easily fit in the same box as the flower head to save on shipping costs. To assemble, simply twist together the two parts of the stem, then attach to the flower head via a connecting bolt on the flower and a receiving nut on the stem.
Disclaimer: due to the nature of computer monitors, the actual colors of the flower may be slightly different than what appears on your screen. The predominant colors of this flower are silver*, yellow and brown. (*The metal is galvanized steel, not silver plate.)
NOTE: The potted plant shown above is a photo prop and is NOT included.
