M A T E R I A L S:

• You will receive a resin casting of the hippo garden sculpture as displayed in the first image of this listing. Please choose the finish you’d like from the drop-down menu.

• Cast with high-quality resin from moulds taken from my original clay sculptures.

• Durable and sturdy, yet hollow-cast to reduce weight for easier handling when maintaining your garden.

• Real metallic finishes (bronze, aluminium, or iron powder) and stone finishes are integrated directly into the mould before being filled with resin, ensuring a permanent finish. The finish is not simply painted on but is an integral part of the sculpture itself.

• Once the bronze or aluminium castings are de-moulded, they are polished with fine steel wool to bring the metallic finish to a shine. A clear, semi-gloss protective sealer is then applied to safeguard the finish from outdoor elements and prevent oxidation.

• The rusty versions of these hippo sculptures are left unsealed to allow the rusty finish to age naturally. This is known as a living patina, where it will continue to rust and become even more naturally weathered over time.

• The stone version of the hippos also receive a clear matt sealer to protect them from outdoor exposure.

• A painted option is available, where bronze-coloured paint is sprayed onto resin castings of the hippos. A clear protective sealer is also applied to the painted finish, enhancing its durability.

• To maintain these finishes, simply rinse the sculptures with water every now and then to remove any dust or dirt that may accumulate. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush or damp cloth may be used to gently clean the surface.

• Do not use abrasive pads, scrubbing brushes, or cleaning chemicals on any of the sculptures, as these could damage the sculptures finish.

• Colour may vary slightly due to different computer screen settings and the unique nature of some finishes.

• Please choose your finish carefully, as the one selected will be the one you receive.

• Prices vary based on the differing costs of materials and amount of labor required for each finish.
