My solid copper hummingbird feeders are truly drip-free, bee and wasp-proof! I invented them based on 22 years of experience caring for hummingbirds as a zookeeper at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, AZ. They are used by most of the zoos in the US that exhibit hummingbirds.
In addition to being bee and wasp-proof, my feeders are easy to use, clean, and are virtually unbreakable. (All factors necessary for a zookeeper changing up to 30 feeders twice daily!)
NOTE: My feeders hold less food than the average hummingbird feeder.
Here’s why:
In order to be effective at deterring bees and wasps there must be NO sugar water on the outside of the feeders where the insects can get to it. Sometimes hummingbirds are a little messy and will drip food while feeding and the easiest way to be certain that there isn’t a build-up of the sweet stuff on the feeder tops is to change the food containers DAILY.
Larger containers would result in wasted sugar water.
All this being said, if there are no bee issues, most people find that 1-3 hummingbirds empty one jar of food in about 2 days (depending on the time of year, other available food sources, whether one bird is capable of defending the feeder from other birds, etc).*
*any hummingbird feeder should be changed every 2-3 days to ensure freshness.

We had three or four more of these every year for our hummingbird population. They love them over any other feeder we have ever tried.
